FAQ

  • How many times can I submit to Camas?
    As many times as you want, but if you are submitting more than one poem, short story, essay, or script, please include them all in one file (please submit a separate file for each type of submission (poetry, essay, etc)).
  • What is the maximum word count my submission can be?
    Prose should be no more than 5,000 words and poetry and scripts should be no longer than 10 pages.
  • Does Camas accept prose or poetry in foreign languages?
    Absolutely! We would love to accept submissions in any language, with the possible discussion of translation.
  • Does Camas accept graphic narratives or comic strips?
    Absolutely! We accept any form of art and writing.
  • What other forms of art does Camas accept?
    You may submit photos of any forms of art you would like!
  • Where do I send my submissions?
    All work should be sumbitted through submitabble at https://camaslinfielduniversity.submittable.com/submit. Text submissions must be in separate Word documents and art submissions are best received as png files.
  • Can I use a pen name or submit anonymously?
    Of course! After your submissions has been accepted, email us at camas@linfield.edu to let us know what alternative name you'd like to be published under and we'll make sure that's how your piece is signed in the final journal.
  • I'm not a student. Can I submit?
    While the bulk of Camas is student work, we accept work from writers who are part of the Linfield Community but not students at the university. This includes staff, professors, alumni, and Yamhill Country residents.
